Tai-Chi 3 Kaoss

Tai-Chi 3 Kaoss is an interface designed for musical performance enabling the user to control different audio effects with the movement of their body. It works similarly to an X-Y effects pad controller (e.g. Korg's Kaoss Pad), but without the physical pad, and in three-dimensional space.

The photo shows an early performance with the interface in which playback speed and filter sweep were being controlled on different audio samples. I still experiment with mapping this interface to different effects, and to effect live performance of vocals and acoustic instruments in real time.

Tai-Chi 3 Kaoss uses the Kinect, Processing, and Max.
